Clothes For New Moms

Dressing your body postpartum can be more challenging than when you were dressing your body during pregnancy. Your body is going through so many changes, and you want to be comfortable, but not be living in pajamas every day.  You most likely want to burn your maternity clothes, but your pre-pregnancy clothes don’t fit. If your end game is to get back into your pre-pregnancy wardrobe, you don’t want to spend a lot on a post-partum wardrobe. However, you still want to buy pieces that make you look great and feel confident.  Below are some items that I have suggested to my clients when they are in this phase.

Pants

These are probably the trickiest to buy. Most women already have leggings, at least all my clients do. When they come to me to help them update their look, they want something else. They are shocked when I suggest high-rise jeans. A high-rise jean will keep everything in. I also suggest joggers because they are comfortable, but also more stylish than leggings.

Tops and Sweaters

The next thing that my clients struggle with are tops and sweaters. You want them to be flowy. If you are breast-feeding button-down tops are helpful.  Make sure the tops are not too overwhelming, just flowy enough that they are not clinging to your body and showing anything that you don’t want to be seen.

Dresses

A lot of my clients forget that dresses are an easy item to throw on, they are comfortable, and can be worn casually, or are perfect for when you are returning back to the office.

When purchasing items, make sure they are neutral and in the same color family so they are easy to mix and match, and you can create a lot of outfits with few pieces. You can find all the items in the blog here.
